Clark Exterminating Maintains A+ Rating from Better Business Bureau

As a locally owned and operated franchise that has served Central Arkansas for more than 30 years, it’s important for us to set an example for community oriented, socially responsible businesses in the area. Our business succeeds or fails based on our level customer service, so the open dialogue between our customers and ourselves is something we value immeasurably. That level of communication and service has been around since Johnny started the business, and as a result we've been accredited members of the Arkansas Better Business Bureau for over a decade, maintaining an A+ Rating.

The BBS’s accreditation standards are, in their most basic form, a general set of guidelines for running a business responsibly while adding value to the community. Any local company that displays trustworthiness, honesty, integrity and responsiveness fits the bill for accreditation, but it’s what a company does once they’ve received accreditation that determines their rating. We’ve stayed consistent in the way we do business, and we’ve earned our A+ as the area’s leading pest control experts. We’re darn proud of it and we love what we do. Everybody deserves a pest-free home, and we like helping people achieve peace of mind through one.

Termite Season Is Right Around the Corner.

Termite season is right around the corner in Central Arkansas. Typically we start seeing termites swarms around late February. Below is footage from a home that Clark Exterminating inspected in the spring of 2010. As you can see termites have destroyed the siding at the base of the house.

Pest-Proofing Your Home for Fall

As fall continues and the weather shifts, pests begin to seek shelter to avoid the cold winter months ahead. To rodents, cockroaches and spiders, nothing appears more inviting than a nice, warm family home to hole up in for the season.

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) wants to remind homeowners that these pests aren't just nuisances, but they can spread disease and cause structural damage to your home. Rats carry diseases such as salmonella and hantavirus while cockroach droppings and saliva can trigger asthma attacks, especially in young children.

Clark Exterminating is a proud member of the NPMA, and as such, wanted to pass along a few helpful tips from the NPMA to help pest-proof your home through the season:

Install door sweeps on exterior doors and repair damaged screens.

Screen vents and openings to chimneys.

  • Seal cracks and crevices on the outside of the home, including areas where utilities and pipes enter.

  • Store food in airtight containers and dispose of garbage regularly in sealed receptacles.

  • Replace loose mortar and weather stripping around the basement foundation and windows.

  • Eliminate all moisture sites, including leaking pipes and clogged drains.

  • Store firewood at least 20 feet away from the house; keep shrubbery well-trimmed.
